Since the inception of our wedding checklist, we already marked today as the day we would canvass for our wedding couturier in Taal, Batangas. As heard from Nene (my older sister) who also ordered her wedding gown from there, we should brace ourselves for the confusion that we may went through due to the many beautiful designs to choose from. What we were not prepared of was the 10 hour travel time. But on a happy note, we fell in love with the majestic view of the municipality of Taal.

Taal Basilica, Taal, Batangas, January 28, 2012 |
Nene ushered us in the boutique hopping. It was the biggest I've seen so far aside from the one in Divisoria. And indeed, my eyeballs were in awe of the countless gowns and ternos in display. Batting average of package prices varied from 6K to 52K. Due to our limited time, we were only able to inquire from 6 boutiques which we found to have the suited designs. From there we knew what Mecado, Pinya, Organza, and Back Satin meant. They were the most famous fabrics used in a wedding gown. Some packages even have perks including shoes, cord, candle etc. Packages for the parents attire are also competitive ranging from 1K to 3K. They also featured the famous Burdang Taal (Taal Embroidery) in most of their designs.

I love this pretty dress design for the flower girl |
Aside from our trip to the boutiques, we were able to enjoy the sights around Taal. We found out that the municipality was established in 1572 evident on the Spanish-inspired homes and buildings all throughout the area. History at its rawest.
