On our early post about
Finding our Couturier, we mentioned about Taal's huge marketplace of gowns, suits, entourage attires, accessories and anything about weddings. I also featured the pictures of the heritage town with greatly preserved church and buildings. However, I missed to take pictures of what the market looks like. So I made sure that when I return, I will take pictures from my vintage 2008 Canon IXUS camera and show why I was fascinated by the place. Unfortunately, it rained the whole day so the pictures are grainy and not as "hi-def" as it should be. Here are some shots of the Taal Market where wedding spells Big Business:

The entrance of the Taal Market, the one-stop wedding shop of Batangas |
Taal is about 2-3 hours away from Manila. We commuted from LRT Buendia and rode the JAM Bus with Lemery route. We alighted at the Flying V station in Lemery. From the gas station, we were informed that there are two ways to reach the Taal Market, via tricycle or jeepney. We rode the jeepney and paid 8 pesos each for fare. We reached Taal Market in no time.

The gowns were not in full view due to rain, this is the right side of the market |
Even though it was Sunday, most of the shops are still open to accomodate customers. As per our inquiry, they are open until 6:00 P.M.

Almost 75% of the market is occupied by the wedding industry business

Jay was busy talking to our supplier about his suit, behind him are exquisite gowns proudly made by Taal seamsters and seamstresses. |
We discussed all the details of the gown and suit with Ms. Marie, owner of the Arman and Marie Bridal Gown shop. We chose the shop because Ms. Marie was very accommodating during our inquiry. She is very patient with our choices and very detailed even on simplest things.

The interior of the Basilica de San Martin de Tours in Taal, Batangas
|
Aside from the trip to the market, we went to the Basilica to visit. Although it's raining, we were greeted by a wedding ceremony.

Wedding is everywhere in Taal |

The Basilica is an architectural masterpiece that should not be missed during the trip to Taal, Batangas |
It was a relief that finally we had our gown and suit made for the wedding. And we were much relieved that the visit was worth our time and above all our budget. So bargain hunter
bride-to-bes, Taal is the best place to be. ; )
